CWO Ernie Hall

We received some tragic news today. CWO Ernie Hall was hit by a car in Pembroke on Sunday. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but passed away yesterday. CWO Hall served with both the Airborne Regiment and the RCR. Rest in peace brother.

There is a short article in the Daily Observer, Petawawa man dead after Lake Street crash.

I will update this post as I hear more. Anyone with information on arrangements, I would appreciate it if you could contact me at rob@prouse.org with the details.

    I’ve pondered this.
    I’m sure others have too.
    What comes to mind? that he had family and maybe friends there.

    There’s a lovely part of the Zen death ceremony … grunt simple:
    ====
    You have worked so hard on so many things.
    So many things you’ve done, and maybe wished to do.
    Now?
    1 thing only.
    Remember, but do not cling.
    [You notice diff from “Go not quietly into the dyign of the light. This is bushido stuff … warrior stuff.]

    1 thing only now to concern yourself with: how you pass along.
    “well” … just that. Because you know what “well” means.
    ====

    That might be when I signed on to Zen. That bit about “you know what “well” means.
    Wow.

    Confidence that a man who has known how to live well knows that list bit.
    hua?

    –an old bummer
