Passing of Dave Gould

Dave passed away in Victoria, BC after an 18 year battle with cancer. Born in Westlock , AB to Otis and Virginia Gould, he grew up and attended school in Barrhead and Hinton, AB. Predeceased by his parents and step-mom Jennie Gould, Dave is survived by his beloved wife Sandi; his daughter Terra (Bert) Warmerdam and his son Shannon Gould; grand-children Destiny and Justin Warmerdam and Mariah, Tori and Darcy Gould and Lena Borle; his siblings Jim Gould, Marg St. Jean (Darrell Harris) and Beth (Art) Brochu; brothers-in-law Tom (Loveron) Zibin and Larry (Nina) Zibin and many nieces and nephews.

Dave joined the military at 17 years of age serving with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry in peace-making and peace-keeping roles in Germany, 1 VP 63-66, Cyprus and Egypt. Dave went through the PPCLI depot with Rimini Platoon in 1961. He also served with 2 Commando, Canadian Airborne Regiment in Edmonton and Petawawa.

    Served with Dave in 2 Commando in Edmonton and Petawawa. Good man and a good leader. Sad to hear of his passing.

    I was also shocked to hear of Dave’s passing. Worked with him in 1 PPCLI in Calgary. A sad day. Condolences to Sandi and Dave’s entire family. Rest in Peace, Dave.

    The world is a lesser place now. Served with Dave in Edmonton on the unarmed combat team. Petawawa. Gagetown. and Calgary. A Solder second to none. REP Dave…..
